Class B of Romayer, TX in operation Michigan
John F. Campbell Collection

This is a photograph of the derelict Class B Climax at Romayer, Texas (X28), when she was new and in service on the Phoenix Mine & Gratiot Railroad in Michigan. The locomotive passed through several different owners before it was abandoned in Texas. Of special note is what appears to be an air tank, located inside the frame just above the cross-shaft gearbox. For a more in depth history on this locomotive, visit the Geared Steam Locomotive Works web site www.gearedsteam.com.
