Typical 30 ton Class B Climax
Mrs. Irene Brown

A 30 ton Class B Climax with a straigh shell boiler. This is No. 8 operated by Kulp Lumber Company, Oldtown, Alleghany County, Maryland. Close observation of this photograph shows the typical equipment carried on a logging locomotive. The headlight bracket was a handy place to hang cant hooks and an assortment of jacks and chains are on the pilot beam, just in case of trouble.
